Sandy Springs Chick-fil-A Closes, Reopening Expected In January

On the heels of the closure of the Chick-fil-A at North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads, the company has now also closed its Drive-Thru Only (DTO) location on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.  Both locations are being demolished and rebuilt with the chain's modern day look and feel.  The restaurant, located just north of Northridge Road and just south of the recently reopened Wendy's, is being demolished this week with plans to reopen in January.  The restaurant's physical address is 8433 Roswell Road.
A Chick-fil-A corporate representative indicated to ToNeTo Atlanta that the new Sandy Springs restaurant will likely follow a similar timeline and resemble the DTO Chick-fil-A at Akers Mill near Cumberland Mall.  The Akers Mill Chick-fil-A closed this past January and reopened in May after being completely rebuilt.  The same representative also indicated earlier this month that the Northridge closure would occur in early September, but the restaurant instead closed August 19.

According to the Chick-fil-A Northridge offical Facebook page, they plan to reopen in January.  In a classy move, the nearby Publix in Dunwoody Place shopping center presented the restaurant with a platter of cookies and pastries during their final week with the message "HURRY BACK SOON CHICK-FIL-A," according to the Facebook page.

DTO locations are more efficient than traditional Chick-fil-A restaurants given they can work with fewer employees and have far lower consumption of utilities such as electricity. There are very few DTO units in Georgia such as those on Fairburn Road in Douglasville and on North Druid Hills near North DeKalb Mall, in addition to Northridge and Akers Mill.

Are you excited for the new and improved Chick-fil-A to debut next year in Sandy Springs?  Have you tried the new hash brown scramble breakfast entree?  What is your favorite fast food chain?
