Beni's Cubano Joining Tin Lizzy's at Peachtree Center Downtown
Just six months removed from its debut in East Cobb, Beni's Cubano is going for seconds, this time in Atlanta. With the first Beni's Cubano apparently doing well at The Avenue East Cobb, a second Beni's is slated to open next month at Peachtree Center, soon to be known as "fetch" "The Hub."
Tin Lizzy's opened the first Beni's adjacent to its East Cobb restaurant this past June. The two restaurants share space previously occupied by Cheeky Taqueria.
Featuring a menu of assorted Cuban sandwiches, large plates - seafood, chicken and beef dishes - as well as Cuban coffee, cocktails and beer, Beni's brings a new cuisine to downtown diners.
Beni's at Peachtree Center will open in a roughly 1,000 square foot existing space next to Planet Smoothie. Although not connected, Beni's is essentially right behind the downtown location of Tin Lizzy's, physically located on Andrew Young International Boulevard, but listed with a Peachtree Street address as it is part of Peachtree Center. Tin Lizzy's opened its downtown Atlanta location during the summer of 2015.
There are currently fourteen Tin Lizzy's locations, including eleven in Georgia, as well as single units in Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina, and their newest restaurant in Tallahassee, Florida.
ToNeTo Atlanta always cautions against immediate expansion of a young concept, but perhaps Tin Lizzy's corporate was presented an offer it couldn't refuse to bring Beni's to Peachtree Center.
Banyan Street, Peachtree Center's owner, introduced the center's new name "The Hub" earlier this month. The firm plans to renovate the three-story retail center and outdoor courtyard, hoping to breathe new life into the aging complex. Along with the face-lift, The Hub is expected to feature a new lineup of restaurants, shops and entertainment, with the possible addition of both fitness and grocery options.
Sources say that Beni's at Peachtree Center is expected to open in mid-to-late November, pending the usual City of Atlanta permitting and inspections.
Have you been to Beni's Cubano? Do you think Beni's Cubano can grow the way Tin Lizzy's has grown? If more locations open, where should the next Beni's Cubano be?
