Sharetea Looking for its Share of Atlanta Tea Business

Tea franchise Sharetea is coming soon to metro Atlanta.  Signage announcing the upcoming opening of the Taipei, Taiwan-based business went up recently at the Hammond Springs shopping center near the corner of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.
The Sandy Springs location will be only the company's second on the east coast, joining an existing Sharetea in Fairfax, Virginia.  Sharetea currently operates domestically in California, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Sharetea's primary offerings include assorted fruit tea, brewed tea, creama, fresh milk, milk tea, and ice blended tea.  The eatery also features "TorDa tea dessert."  These are desserts filled with Sharetea’s signature black tea custard and chewy pearls, which create the unique flavor and texture. Other "TorDa" options include a tuna cheese TorDa with honey mustard, tuna and creamy cheese, and the red bean TorDa filled with custard and red beans: "it is the nostalgic taste of Taiwan."

Hammond Springs has been a popular center for eateries as of late with popular local joint Clay's Sports Cafe recently reopening in the center, joining other new restaurants Jinya, a ramen bar, and Kaiser's Chophouse.

Sharetea will be situated in a roughly 1,000 square foot space, between Kaiser's and Jinya.

Verbiage on the Sharetea website provides information for those considering a franchise.

Sharetea may be bringing gourmet Asian tea to Sandy Springs, but a number of both international franchises and local upstarts already offer the popular beverage around Atlanta.

Quickly, another tea franchise from Taipei, operates over 2,000 locations in the United States, including two in metro Atlanta on Buford Highway in Doraville and on Old Norcross Road in Duluth.

Atlanta-based Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe, which in addition to their baked goods, offers a variety of teas, operates five locations in metro Atlanta, but none in Sandy Springs.

Bubbleology, another franchise, has two Atlanta area locations in Mall of Georgia in Buford and Lenox Square in Buckhead.

ToNeTo Atlanta has thus far been unable to confirm an expected opening for Sharetea but with construction only recently beginning, it's likely it won't open until after the new year.

Are you a fan of Asian teas?  Where is your favorite place in metro Atlanta for tea? Do you think Sharetea will be successful in the location they have selected?
