Culver's Coming to Even More Communities
Culver's, the Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin-based quick-serve burger restaurant which entered the Georgia market last year, has plans to open at least six more locations in the coming months, as it continues to expand across the state. The new restaurants are planned for Kennesaw, Johns Creek/Suwanee, Braselton, Gainesville, Pooler and Savannah.
The Kennesaw Culver's, which ToNeTo Atlanta reported on previously, will be located just off Cobb Parkway at 2454 Kennesaw Due West Road. The approximately 4,300 square foot restaurant will be situated alongside an existing ServisFirst Bank branch and an upcoming Dunkin' Donuts location.
The Johns Creek/Suwanee location is planned for 3135 Peachtree Parkway, across from the new Extra Space Storage and adjacent to Pop's wine & spirits.
The Culver's in Gainesville is planned for 1260 Dawsonville Highway in place of an existing car wash.
The Pooler Culver's, as ToNeTo Atlanta reported in July, will open in an outparcel of the Tanger Outlets on Tanger Outlet Boulevard.
The Culver's in Braselton, as ToNeTo Atlanta reported in September, will be located just off State Route 211 (Old Winder Highway) in an out-parcel of the new High Point Medical mixed-use development.
A Savannah location is being targeted for development, but sources say a specific site is not yet final. All of the locations are expected to follow approximately the same footprint as the Kennesaw restaurant and be about 4,300 square feet.
The burger chain, with an almost cult-like following, entered the Georgia market last year with a location in Dawsonville, just north of the North Georgia Premium Outlets. In the months since, the chain has added new Georgia locations in Newnan, Buford, Grovetown (just outside Augusta), Lawrenceville, Canton/Hickory Flat and McDonough.
Atlanta based private equity firm Roark Capital Group purchased a "minority interest" in Culver's last month in a deal for which terms were not made public.
For the uninitiated, Culver's is most well known for their frozen custard and signature "ButterBurgers." Culver's menu also includes a variety of sides such as Wisconsin cheese curds, onion rings and coleslaw, as well as assorted salads and soups. The popular burger eatery, which was founded in 1984, today operates nearly 650 locations in twenty-three states.
Are you excited for the addition of more Culver's to metro Atlanta? If given the choice of Culver's, Freddy's or Steak & Shake, which would you choose? Where would you like to see Culver's open next?
